We are seeking an Indigenous Doctoral Researcher to join our team at RMIT University's School of Health and Biomedical Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidate to embark on a PhD in the STEM field, with a focus on Indigenous health research.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of researchers and academics, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to address health disparities in Indigenous communities.

The position is a fixed-term contract for four years, with a salary of Academic A-B (from AU$90,000 p.a depending on level of experience) plus 17% super and flexible working.

To be successful for the appointment, you will have:

  • Aboriginality' or 'Must be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage' is an 'Essential Selection Criteria'
  • Appropriate academic background or equivalence to gain admission to PhD candidature
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills

Appointment to this position is subject to passing and maintaining a Working with Children check. Other background checks will be carried out via our external provider CV check.
