Family Intervention Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Family Intervention Specialist to join our team in the Mid North Coast region. This is a permanent part-time opportunity that will allow you to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable families.
About The RoleThis role involves working collaboratively with Child and Family Health Nurses and other team members to provide psychosocial interventions with families participating in the Sustaining NSW Families program. You will also work closely with government and non-government organisations to deliver community education activities and support families at a time of change.
Main Responsibilities- To conduct complex psychosocial assessments and provide specialist social work and counselling interventions with an early intervention focus.
- To enhance parenting capacity, promote healthy family functioning, and support families experiencing stress and trauma.
- To collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised plans for each family.
- A Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Extensive experience working with families with complex clinical presentations in relevant clinical settings such as perinatal mental health, child protection, domestic violence, and substance misuse.
- Demonstrated advanced therapeutic skills and ability to respond to the needs of vulnerable families in stressful situations.
