We are seeking a customer-focused administrator for an AO3 Housing Officer role with Top Office. This temporary position is available to commence immediately in Buranda and may be extended based on business needs.

The focus of the role will be to provide high-quality, person-centered social housing and housing assistance services to diverse clients. A background in community services and/or property management is advantageous, and duties include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Service: Assessing property applications and grants, conducting client interviews, and making referrals to support service agencies as required.
  • Property Management: Maintaining property waitlists, allocations, and vacancies, ensuring departmental compliance as the lessor in all tenancy arrangements.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assisting with conducting visits to properties and investigating and facilitating the resolution of any tenancy disputes and complaints.
  • Financial Management: Monitoring and managing outstanding arrears, rent assessments, pay deductions, and refunds; actioning sundry debts and collections.
  • Maintenance and Inspections: Managing the maintenance of properties and conducting property inspections.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate client and property records and file notes.

We are seeking the following skills and experience:

Requirements:
  • Customer Service: Proven ability to build rapport, actively listen, demonstrate empathy, and de-escalate challenging customer interactions.
  • Administration: Previous administration experience in an office environment with a proven ability to pick up new systems and technology quickly and navigate multiple applications and screens efficiently.
  • Community Services and/or Property Management: An advantage, but not essential.
  • Work Management: Proven experience and examples of managing your work effectively while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to embrace new challenges and adapt to change.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Well-developed, inclusive communication and interpersonal skills that focus on professional, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail with fast and accurate keyboarding skills.
  • Teamwork: Positive attitude and team player approach with experience adapting to different work tasks on a daily basis to support organizational goals.
  • Availability: Availability to work 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and commence the temporary assignment with short notice.
