About the Role

The Department of Home Affairs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Policy and Operations Manager to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing policies and programs that support the Department's mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and programs that align with the Department's strategic objectives
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders on policy and operational matters
  • Manage and coordinate the work of teams to achieve policy and operational objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to achieve policy and operational outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and programs
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field such as policy, public administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience in policy development and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
