About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer or ambitious Lead Structural Engineer to join our esteemed team based in Perth.

Our team consists of ten highly competent structural engineers, and with our continued success winning large greenfield projects and brownfield upgrades, we are looking for an individual who wants to take on a long-term leadership and mentoring position.

As a key member of our multi-disciplined engineering and design team, you will be responsible for structural design of materials handling and processing facility structures, development of cost-effective designs, and provision of technical support and guidance to the drafting team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural design of materials handling and processing facility structures
  • Development of cost-effective designs that are project-appropriate and to the clients' needs
  • Provision of technical support and guidance to the drafting team during the preparation of preliminary and detailed design models/documents
  • Maintenance and fostering relationships within the DRA structural engineering team, other members of the overall DRA multidisciplinary team, clients, and contractors
Requirements
  • Relevant civil/structural degree, ideally with 15+ years' of design experience in resources processing or mining
  • Well-developed communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software packages such as Space Gass
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience using advanced analysis tools such as Strand7 would be an advantage
  • Excellent attitude, team focus, and commitment towards safety
