About this Role

This position is key to delivering a sustainable three-month rolling production plan while monitoring and responding to compliance with the plan. As a Senior Production Planner, you will play a vital role in developing planning engineers through coaching and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a rolling production plan that aligns with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure effective implementation of plans.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to the mine plan from a safety and productivity perspective.
  • Mentor and guide junior planners to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Foster strong relationships with operational managers and superintendents to drive performance improvement.
  • Evaluate and challenge planning inputs to inform future planning cycles.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in mining engineering or a related field.
  • Significant experience in mining operations and a deep understanding of the underground mining cycle.
  • Experience with scheduling software, including Deswik Sched.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and engage proactively with stakeholders.
