As an experienced professional in the field of Aboriginal cultural heritage, you will provide technical and professional leadership in a team to deliver heritage management plans.

The role requires strong research and analysis skills, excellent writing and reporting skills, and excellent verbal communication skills. You will also need to demonstrate ability to support and manage heritage projects in a timely manner and to a high level of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering Victorian Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Plans, including field survey, test excavations, and reporting.
  • Conducting heritage and significance assessments.
  • Managing project portfolios and preparing proposals for key clients.
  • Writing heritage reports and assessments, and preparing more complex reports.
  • Providing leadership, mentoring, and support for other professionals while undertaking field assessment and artefact analysis.

The successful candidate will have a Victorian Registered Heritage Advisor with the appropriate qualifications and experience to lead fieldwork in accordance with the requirements of heritage guidelines. Honours or postgraduate degree in a relevant subject (e.g. heritage management, archaeology) and consulting experience with a focus on Aboriginal heritage are also essential.

The team comprises heritage specialists with experience in Aboriginal archaeology, historical archaeology, maritime archaeology, underwater archaeology, interpretation, and built heritage and architecture. We work on projects from large-scale infrastructure developments to smaller heritage-specific projects.
