We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shelter Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for guiding the daily operations of our animal shelter, ensuring the well-being of both animals and staff.
About the Role- Lead the day-to-day operations of the shelter, driving continuous improvement and supporting staff development.
- Become the subject matter expert in shelter operations, with a strong focus on animal care, impounding, rehoming, and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to improve shelter operations, while maintaining a positive team culture.
- Supervise a small team, including rostering, task allocation, and performance management.
- Manage animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and providing medical attention as needed.
- Coordinate the rehoming process, ensuring animals are adopted into suitable homes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, using digital animal management systems such as Shelter Buddy and NSW Pet Registry.
- Certificate III in Companion Animal Services or equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience supervising a small team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
- High-level organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
