Senior Mental Health Specialist

The Department of Education is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our wellbeing workforce. This role is part of Queensland's initiative to ensure every student has access to a wellbeing professional, right where they need it most.
Job DescriptionThis senior position involves undertaking individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns.
- Administer specialised psycho-educational assessments of students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties, including cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social and adaptive functioning.
- Coordinate or assist in the implementation of specific professional in-service training programs for teachers, parents, schools and other professionals, focusing on supporting students' mental health and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will have access to Department of Education housing and may be entitled to relocation support. The role requires working closely with students and families, providing vital support for mild to moderate mental health concerns.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. A commitment to delivering high-quality services and contributing to a positive school environment is essential.
