Accounts Position Overview

The accounts officer role is a vital part of our organisation, requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail for the management of financial transactions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable, including accurate invoicing and reconciliations to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Cash Flow Monitoring: Process payments and monitor cash flow while maintaining accurate records in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting to support informed business decisions.
  • Bank Statement Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements regularly to identify discrepancies and prevent errors.
  • Support Services: Support payroll processing and compliance reporting by liaising with internal teams as needed.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • A minimum of previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping, or finance role is essential for this position.
  • Accounting Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB, or similar) and MS Excel is mandatory for efficient task completion.
  • Taxation Knowledge: Understanding of GST, BAS, and payroll processes is required for accurate financial management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with internal teams.
  • Prioritisation: Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines is crucial for successful job performance.
