Senior Project Manager Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee multiple BHP Iron Ore sites within the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of project execution from beginning to end, and be able to identify and manage teams to their strengths.

About the Role
  • Manage all aspects of the project including contract management, estimating, programming of work and defect rectification.
  • Coordinate direct labour and subcontractors.
  • Manage project start-up, maintain project schedule and ensure effective handover, including holding regular project management meetings.
  • Report on project success, results, progress, and deployment of activity.
  • Maintain the project site, premises, plant & equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

This role requires experience in a similar role within the mining industry, strong work history on BHP Iron Ore sites, and demonstrated performance in project cost control management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of all commercial aspects of the project.
  • Manage and analyse project expenditure and duration.
  • Engage with clients and internal subject matter experts at precontract stage to understand scope, and contribute to tender process.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management, or similar.
  • Experience with tier 1 contracting companies in the Pilbara.
  • Scheduling Experience with Primavera or MS Project at a minimum.
  • Cert IV OHS.
  • Contract Law experience.
