Safety Compliance Professional

Overview:

Glen Eira Leisure seeks a dedicated safety professional to play a key role in strengthening its culture of accountability and continuous improvement across all venues.

The Safety Compliance Officer will support the Risk and Compliance Coordinator, contributing to the development and monitoring of systems that support safe and accountable operations across all sites. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining, administering, and improving Glen Eira Leisure's risk management framework and risk register
  • Implementing Council's occupational health and safety procedures across GEL operations in collaboration with Council's wellbeing and safety team
  • Coordinating documentation for internal and external audits; conducting spot checks and operational reviews to assess risk and compliance
  • Investigating incidents, near misses, and hazards involving staff and patrons; escalating issues where appropriate
  • Supporting contractor compliance and service agreement obligations
  • Preparing insightful quarterly reports on risk and compliance activities for senior leaders
  • Educating staff on evolving compliance frameworks, legislative changes, risk mitigation strategies, and safety protocols
