About the Role:

Davies Stewart Consulting Pty Ltd is partnering with a leading technical consulting firm dedicated to environmental solutions.

The National Technical Manager will serve as a senior leader within the organization, overseeing the technical consultancy department on a national scale. Reporting directly to the executive general manager, this role requires extensive experience as a Principal Scientist/Engineer, along with proven management expertise and commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the efficient delivery of projects nationwide, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Manage the P&L of the entire technical consultancy department, monitoring financial performance and implementing strategies to optimize profitability.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
  • Oversee technical review processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of emerging technologies and industry best practices, driving innovation within the technical consultancy department.
  • Communicate effectively both internally and externally, representing the company professionally and ethically.
  • Attend meetings prepared and punctually, providing insightful contributions and strategic guidance.
  • Complete financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, legislative changes, and emerging technologies, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Utilize commercial understanding and acumen to identify and pursue new business opportunities nationwide.
  • Cultivate and nurture client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and driving customer satisfaction and retention.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
  • Project management experience, preferably in environmental consulting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proven leadership abilities and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
