Effective healthcare delivery is a collaborative effort between professionals, clients, and their families. In this capacity, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with acute mental health needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care and treatment.

About the Role

This opportunity presents a chance for an experienced nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive assessments, triage, and assertive outreach services to individuals and their families, ensuring access to the least restrictive and most effective treatment options.

You will work closely with clients, their families, and carers to develop collaborative treatment plans that reflect best practice and evidence-based care. This requires strong teamwork and coordination with inpatient units, community-based services, and other members of the Access team to ensure continuity and quality of care.

The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications as a registered nurse and currently be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). They will also have demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of people presenting with acute mental health disorders, excellent negotiation skills, and verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act and related legislation
  • Understanding of recovery oriented care with demonstrated ability to meaningfully collaborate with consumers and their family and carers regarding mental health service provision
  • Computer competency including demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems used in Health settings
