We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Professional to join our team at Sulzer. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the community.
Key Responsibilities- Champion Safety Accountability: Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that promotes a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.
- Safety Systems Implementation: Design and implement effective safety systems, including risk assessments, job safety analyses, and training programs, to mitigate hazards and prevent injuries.
- Proactive Injury Prevention & Injury Management: Develop and implement proactive measures to prevent injuries and manage workplace incidents, including return-to-work programs and rehabilitation services.
- Incident Management: Investigate and respond to workplace incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Employee Engagement: Foster a culture of safety awareness and engagement among employees, promoting open communication and collaboration to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Business Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with operational supervisors and managers to ensure effective safety management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Consultation & Communication: Provide regular safety updates and training to employees, ensuring they are aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant statutory, legislative, regulatory, and organizational safety requirements, including compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Audit Leadership: Plan, lead, and conduct internal and external safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational safety policies.
- Management System & Certification: Develop, review, and implement policies, procedures, and processes to maintain the organization's Management System and certifications.
- Safety System Management: Promote and maintain effective safety systems, including the use of technology and data analytics to drive safety performance and continuous improvement.
- Performance Reporting: Provide regular safety performance reports to stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and trends to inform safety decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Safety (mandatory); Workplace Train the Trainer qualifications (highly desirable)
- Certifications: RTW Accreditation (mandatory); First Aid/CPR Accreditation
- Experience: Minimum 7 years operational safety role in an industrial workshop or manufacturing environment; with project site experience also being highly desirable.
- Skills: Leadership in cultural or organizational change initiatives, safety systems implementation, root cause analysis, and working knowledge of WHS legislation / regulations / codes of practice.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel interstate up to 50% of the time month on month.
