Occupational Therapist Job in Community Setting

This occupational therapy role involves working with adults to help them maintain their independence and achieve their goals. The position is part-time or full time, with a minimum of 3 days per week. Contracting opportunities are also available for those seeking greater flexibility.

  • Visit clients in their homes, assess their needs, and design intervention programs to help them achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Conduct assessments for home modifications, from simple to complex.
  • Assist clients in finding the right assistive technology solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with support coordinators, local area coordinators, and equipment suppliers.
  • Write reports to document client progress, outcomes, and recommendations.
Requirements:
  • A degree in occupational therapy with current AHPRA registration.
  • Experience or a keen interest in providing OT services to adults with disabilities, chronic disease, and complex care needs.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to manage a flexible caseload.
  • Ability to complete autonomous home and community-based assessments and interventions, following an extensive onboarding program.
  • A reliable car and driver's license to visit clients in their homes.
  • Current NDISWC / WWCC (or willingness to apply).
