Job Title: Culinary Team Member

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our culinary team as a Culinary Team Member. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and a strong understanding of commercial cookery practices.

The role involves working closely with the team to prepare and present dishes that exceed guests' expectations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Dish Preparation: Preparing food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions, and buffet service
  • Maintaining a Clean Environment: Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment while ensuring high-quality products and presentation standards
  • Stock Management: Implementing and maintaining strict stock rotation and minimizing wastage
  • Inventory Control: Monitoring daily kitchen food and product requirements and advising the supervisor in advance
  • Team Collaboration: Assisting and liaising with the chef on duty as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Commercial Cookery Qualification: Commercial Cookery Qualification - Cert III or IV is preferred
  • Hotel Industry Experience: Previous experience in the hotel industry is preferred
  • Familiarity with Food Safety: Familiarity with Food Safety and WHS legislation
  • Service Orientation: Service-oriented with an eye for detail
  • Initiative and Time Management: Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in a dynamic environment
  • Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
