Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Strategic Underwriting Leader to join our organization. This role is responsible for delivering product and underwriting technical support functions to the Portfolio Management team.

About the Role
  • Develop, deliver and drive effective planning of the Portfolio Underwriting function to ensure delivery of services to underpin Business plans
  • Assist in coordinating and managing team wide projects, business, and technical activities
  • Supervise the administration of Product Committee functions for relevant products as per instructions from the Product Chair
  • Assist with complex underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met
  • Support effective communication of Product related issues across relevant Business Units to develop and promote Products to the market
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, coach and mentor the team to ensure effective resource allocation, optimal performance, capability development, employee engagement and retention
Requirements
  • Solid working knowledge of Underwriting Operations with extensive experience in a Leadership role
  • Experience managing a National Underwriting portfolio
  • Broad working knowledge of risk management, portfolio management, insurance principles and underwriting
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in senior stakeholder management
  • Solid leadership experience and engagement skills
  • Advanced planning, organisational and project management skills
