Role Summary:

This opportunity offers a chance to develop expertise in category management principles and best practices through rotation across various category teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Management: Manage assigned categories with ownership, treating them as your own business, and making informed decisions for commercial success.
  • Sourcing and Procurement: Identify opportunities for range expansion, negotiate optimal trading terms, and procure products at competitive prices.
  • Supplier and Stakeholder Management: Build relationships to support product lifecycles, category operations, and optimisation.
  • Performance Optimisation: Monitor sales and inventory levels to achieve company, team, and individual goals and KPIs.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Promote products and ranges through eDMs and collaborate with the Marketing team on promotional activities.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek better working methods to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Commerce, Business, or similar field.
  • Practical retail experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills for effective relationship building.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen for swift decision-making.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, being agile and adaptable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables) and use of IT and cloud-based tools.
