Project Coordinator Overview

The role of Project Coordinator is to support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects by coordinating and managing utilities works, ensuring technical compliance, safety, and timely delivery.

  • Coordinate and manage trenching, conduit installation, pit construction, backfilling, and asset protection works.
  • Liaise with utility providers to ensure approvals and compliance with asset owner requirements.
  • Interpret construction drawings and ensure accurate delivery of the utilities scope.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews involved in utilities relocation and installation.
  • Support project planning by developing short-term lookaheads, schedules, and resource plans specific to utilities.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, permits to work, ITPs, and other relevant documentation.
  • Conduct quality checks, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with design and industry standards.
  • Monitor safety performance and participate in site safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure smooth integration of utilities with broader project works.
  • Support project reporting, including progress updates, cost tracking, and forecasting.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally on large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience working on utilities relocations and service installation (water, electrical, communications, gas, stormwater, sewer, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of asset owner requirements and approval processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Competency with project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • White Card and relevant safety certifications preferred.
  • Driver's license required.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on TfNSW or local council infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) processes and utility clash resolution.
  • Experience with environmental and traffic control requirements related to utilities works.
