Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to lead our kitchen operations at Village Café in Perth. This key role involves preparing high-quality cuisine for our guests while maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, consistency, and cleanliness.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring dishes are prepared and plated according to the café menu, working across different sections as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and cleanliness at all times.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure proper utilization of kitchen equipment and manage storage and organization of food products.
  • Maintenance and Training: Monitor temperatures of cool rooms and refrigerators, and provide training to cooks and kitchen staff as needed.
  • Collaboration and Planning: Participate in menu planning, cost control, and budget management, and collaborate with the head chef and management to address food preparation concerns.
  • Scheduling and Team Management: Work with the head chef to create staff rotas and organize the kitchen team's schedule and tasks.

Requirements:

  • Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply and will be prioritized.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a culinary professional in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to working a minimum of 38 hours per week.
