This is a unique opportunity to create bespoke furniture while empowering Yolngu trainees through hands-on mentorship in a community-driven workshop.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of Yolngu trainees in the workshop
  • Interpreting architectural and technical drawings to bring designs to life
  • Using a wide range of tools - from routers to hand finishers - to create high-quality pieces
  • Managing timelines and collaborating with the broader team to deliver projects
  • Championing ALPA values and maintaining a safe, clean, and inspiring workspace

Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications in Cabinetmaking, Joinery, Shopfitting, or Furniture Making
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in furniture production and finishing
  • Proven leadership in a workshop setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
  • OH&S White Card, NT Driver's License (or ability to obtain), and willingness to travel
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office and workshop planning
