Job Title: Bespoke Furniture Craftsman

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate craftsman to join our team in Nhulunbuy, on the stunning Gove Peninsula.

About the Role

This isn't just a job - it's a chance to create high-quality bespoke furniture while mentoring and empowering Yolngu trainees through hands-on experience in a community-driven workshop.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and mentor a team of Yolngu trainees in the workshop.
  2. Interpret architectural and technical drawings to bring designs to life.
  3. Use a wide range of tools - from routers to hand finishers - to produce high-quality pieces.
  4. Manage timelines and collaborate with the broader team to deliver projects.
  5. Champion key values and maintain a safe, clean, and inspiring workspace.
Requirements
  1. Trade qualifications in Cabinetmaking, Joinery, Shopfitting, or Furniture Making.
  2. 5+ years of hands-on experience in furniture production and finishing.
  3. Proven leadership skills in a workshop setting.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  5. OH&S White Card, NT Driver's License (or ability to obtain), and willingness to travel.
  6. Confidence with Microsoft Office and workshop planning software.
