Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Geriatric Psychiatrist to provide consultation services and support our team of mental health professionals in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide geriatric psychiatry consultation to outpatient services at the Senior's Outpatient Clinic (SOPC) at Royal Jubilee Hospital
  • Support for the Esquimalt Westshore Health Unit (EWHU)
  • Consultation at several Long Term Care Facilities

The successful candidate will participate in the Geriatric Psychiatry call rotation and take on lead roles when required. They will also have opportunities to participate in research and education initiatives, including training of medical students and residents.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team and make a positive impact on the lives of older adults in our community.

Requirements
  • Medical degree and certification as a psychiatrist
  • Experience working with older adults and their families
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Prior experience in geriatric psychiatry is an asset, but not required. We welcome applications from qualified candidates who are passionate about working with older adults.
