About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to join our Capital Planning & Delivery team at Vicinity Centres. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of capital projects across our national portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of capital projects, including pre-construction cost estimates, planning and design schematics, construction documentation, permitting procedures, and project scheduling.
  • Collaborate with regional and local Operational Management teams to verify existing conditions, complete feasibility studies, and identify applicable CAPEX work scopes.
  • Provide direction to architects, engineers, and contractors, including design, project management, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Review and approve construction drawings, ensuring compliance with owners' responsibilities and tenant lease requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of mall systems, existing and proposed, and the lifecycle for replacement, including electrical infrastructure, HVAC systems, vertical transportation, fire life safety, and data backbones.
  • Efficiently track and manage the scheduling of CAPEX project planning and permit submissions to local jurisdictional agencies.
  • Attend recurring action/asset meetings to ensure awareness of all aspects of the shopping centre, especially on issues related to capital delivery programs.
  • Collaborate with the internal design management group to prepare design briefs to align with budgeted CAPEX and Centre Transformational projects.
  • Visit shopping centres regularly to monitor progress of CAPEX work and promote methods to expedite the construction process.
  • Supervise the schedule of construction to ensure completion on or before the agreed contract schedule.
  • Perform detailed punch list inspections throughout the construction of each project and issue a final written copy to the contractor upon completion.
  • Ensure compliance of all close-out documentation in accordance with contract terms.
What You'll Bring
  • Experience in project management, construction management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety building infrastructure systems.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in strategic thinking, analysis, solution, and change management.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think innovatively and thrive in an agile environment focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat, project scheduling applications, and project budgeting software.
