Job Title: Delivery Manager - Capital Planning & Delivery

About the Role

Vicinity Centres is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Capital Planning & Delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of capital projects across our national portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of capital projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with regional and local Operational Management teams to verify existing conditions, complete feasibility studies, and identify applicable CAPEX work scopes.
  • Provide direction to architects, engineers, and contractors, including design, project management, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Design and technical plan review of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and vertical transportation drawings.
  • Interface with suppliers and architects to review, comment, and approve construction drawings, ensuring owners' responsibilities and compliance with tenant lease requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of all mall systems, existing and proposed, and understand the lifecycle for replacement, including electrical infrastructure, HVAC systems, vertical transportation, fire life safety, and data backbones.
  • Efficiently track and/or manage the scheduling of CAPEX project planning and permit submissions to all applicable local jurisdictional agencies.
  • Attend recurring action/asset meetings to ensure awareness of all aspects of the shopping centre, especially on issues that pertain to capital delivery programs.
  • Collaborate with the internal design management group to prepare design briefs to align with budgeted CAPEX and Centre Transformational projects.
  • Visit shopping centres on a regular basis to monitor progress of any CAPEX work and promote methods to expedite the construction process wherever possible.
  • Supervise the schedule of construction to ensure they complete on or before the agreed contract schedule.
  • Conduct field inspections and meetings with architects, contractors, and building inspectors, where necessary.
  • Perform detailed punch list inspections throughout the construction of each project and promptly issue a final written copy to the contractor upon the completion of each project.
  • Ensure compliance of all close-out documentation in accordance with contract terms.

Requirements

  • Experience in project management, construction management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety building infrastructure systems.
  • General knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and fire alarm systems/codes, as well as DDA code.
  • Tertiary qualifications in construction management or equivalent.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to think in an innovative way.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat, project scheduling applications, and project budgeting software.
