Supportive Homelessness Outreach Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and empathetic Supportive Homelessness Outreach Worker to join our team in West Metro Melbourne.

This role is the frontline of our crisis response, offering immediate support, guidance, and access to safe, affordable accommodation for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. As an outreach worker, you will provide person-centred assessments and help individuals and families access essential housing options. You will connect clients to support services, community resources, and our wider network, developing action and safety plans that address immediate risks, vulnerabilities, and support pathways. Your approach must be trauma-informed, strengths-based, and tailored to those with complex needs.

  • You will work collaboratively with dedicated professionals who share a vision for a just and inclusive society.
  • Your strengths will include compassion and resilience, working with a calm and optimistic approach, as well as experience in working with individuals who present with complex needs.
  • Strong communication skills will enable you to navigate difficult conversations with empathy and clarity.

This role requires a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare, or a related field – or significant relevant experience. A current Working with Children Check is also required.
