About This Role

This position plays a crucial part in supporting stores and workshop operations. The job involves managing goods inwards and outwards, operating steel processing machinery, assisting with fabrication tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pick, pack, and check parts for steel water tanks.
  • Loading and unloading trucks safely according to company procedures.
  • Receiving and unpacking goods, verifying against delivery dockets and purchase orders.
  • Maintaining organisation and accuracy of stores area and inventory.
  • Conducting stock takes and cycle counts as required.
  • Operating steel processing machinery including: Steel bandsaw and Hydraulic ironworker.
  • Assisting in minor fabrication work as directed.
  • Performing pre-start and safety checks on machinery and equipment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of the workshop environment.
  • Liaising with Plant Manager to prioritise daily tasks.
  • Communicating effectively with internal staff to support efficient production flow.
  • Representing the company professionally with delivery drivers and visitors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or workshop environment.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Competence in operating workshop machinery (e.g., bandsaw, ironworker) or willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and inventory.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and conduct equipment checks.
  • A team player with clear and confident communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling tasks.
