About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Risk Management Professional to join our team as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist.
You will be reporting to the Head of Risk, Strategic & Corporate Affairs Group, and working closely with the People & Culture business unit to identify risk and improve the control environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the day-to-day management and oversight of the P&C business to ensure regulatory compliance;
- Maintaining a sound control environment through Business As Usual (BAU) activities and change management initiatives;
- Designing and testing appropriate controls and standard operating procedures to mitigate risks;
- Ensuring policies and procedures are embedded into business operations to prevent non-compliance;
- Monitoring risk and performing Control Self-Assessment to identify issues and gaps;
- Proactively managing open issues, including audit findings and incidents, to ensure timely remediation;
- Supporting end-to-end processing for all raised incidents, including root cause analysis, systems, and reporting;
- Providing expertise to the P&C team on risk management and enhancing a positive risk culture;
- Preparing risk materials and content for various risk forums at Rest.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as risk management, compliance, or a related discipline;
- Postgraduate qualifications desirable but not essential;
- At least 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field, preferably in financial services or superannuation;
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels;
- Ability to analyze complex information, identify risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies;
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
