Austin Health is a leading provider of tertiary health services, education, and research across three campuses in Melbourne. We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist - Liaison Psychiatry to join our team on a permanent basis.

This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on patients' lives by addressing their mental health needs in a hospital setting. You will be working with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care, supported by our strong commitment to cultural safety and health equity for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People.

Job Description
  • About the Role:
  • We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist - Consultation Liaison who has expertise in improving health outcomes across the general hospital setting.
  • You will work closely with medical and surgical teams to achieve optimal health outcomes for patients.
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in liaison psychiatry settings, including inreach to the emergency department or rehabilitation services.

About You:

  • A registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP), or equivalent
  • Accredited supervisor for RANZCP training
  • Interest in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry
  • Demonstrated capacity to build professional relationships between mental health and other healthcare
