Support Worker for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Individuals

SensesWA is seeking Support Workers to provide care and assistance to Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals with disability in various settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of those they support.

  • Proficiency in Auslan.
  • Experience working with people with various disabilities, including non-verbal and vision impairment.
  • High levels of trust, honesty, and integrity to maintain professional relationships.
  • Resilience and experience working with challenging situations.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clients, their families, and other professionals to deliver person-centered supports that promote social inclusion, health, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Auslan-based support to clients in daily living activities, such as personal care and community access.
  2. Develop and implement individualized care plans in consultation with clients and their support networks.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  4. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current WA Working With Children's Check.
  • Current Australian Driver's License and insured vehicle.
