Auslan Support Specialist
DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Auslan Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals with disability.
The successful candidate will be proficient in Auslan, possess experience working with people with various disabilities, including non-verbal and vision impairment, and demonstrate high levels of trust, honesty, and integrity.
You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, providing support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care and community access support.

Key Responsibilities:- Providing Auslan support to clients with varying needs and abilities
- Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene
- Accompanying clients on outings and social events
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting progress to stakeholders
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Proficiency in Auslan
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Certificate III or IV in Disability (or willing to obtain)
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current WA Working With Children's Check
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
