Job Title:

A Patent Attorney position is currently available in Melbourne.

About the Role:
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in Australia and internationally
  • Prepare high quality written and verbal IP advice in a timely manner
  • Manage intellectual property portfolios for local and international clients
  • Develop and execute IP strategies tailored to client needs
  • Prepare and deliver IP related articles and presentations internally and externally
About You:

You should be a registered Australian or New Zealand patent attorney who is degree qualified (or higher) in electrical or electronics engineering, computer systems engineering, mechatronics engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), physics, quantum computing, software engineering or a related technical field.

You will also possess the following skills and experience:

  • 1-3 years post-registration experience as a Patent Attorney
  • Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the above technical fields
  • Experience managing IP portfolios and developing IP strategies for Australian and international applicants
  • A client-focused approach and ability to build strong professional relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional technical knowledge
  • An eye for detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills and database researching skills
  • Highly organised and responsible with experience prioritising and working to deadlines
  • A positive attitude with a collaborative and innovative mindset
