Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled patent attorney to join our team in Melbourne.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients to protect cutting-edge technologies.

You will develop and implement intellectual property protection strategies tailored to client needs under the guidance of experienced professionals with diverse subject matter expertise.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Australia and internationally,
  2. Preparing high-quality written and verbal advice on intellectual property matters in a timely manner,
  3. Managing complex intellectual property portfolios for local and international clients,
  4. Developing and executing comprehensive intellectual property strategies tailored to client objectives,
  5. Preparing and delivering engaging presentations on intellectual property-related topics internally and externally,
  6. Participating in networking events, seminars, and business development activities to advance professional relationships and industry knowledge.

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  1. 1-3 years post-registration experience as a Patent Attorney,
  2. Expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in electrical or electronics engineering, computer systems engineering, mechatronics engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), physics, quantum computing, software engineering or a related technical field,
  3. Experience managing intellectual property portfolios and developing strategic plans for Australian and international applicants,
  4. A strong focus on client satisfaction and ability to build robust professional relationships,
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,
  6. Advanced technical knowledge,
  7. An eye for detail, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills,
  8. Highly developed organizational and time management skills with experience prioritizing and meeting deadlines,
  9. A collaborative mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
