Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our Group Life and Retirement business unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining our Risk Management Framework and providing support and advice to the business unit to ensure they operate within our risk appetite and framework.

This is a permanent role, working flexibly from our Sydney office. You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering timely Risk Management and/or Compliance analysis and advice to stakeholders to enable the business to be commercially successful and fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting and advising the business to identify, classify, measure, and monitor their risks and/or compliance requirements and issues.
  • Assisting stakeholders in identifying the potential risks and compliance issues associated with their day-to-day business goals, including assisting in the incident and breach reporting process.
  • Working with stakeholders to analyse and quantify the impact of items requiring remediation while operating within our Risk and Compliance guidelines and upholding our customer philosophies.
  • Coordinating the formulation of remediation strategies and implementation plans for key corrective actions and preventative controls, including obtaining relevant approvals.
  • Supporting the Risk & Compliance Senior Manager in providing key reporting requirements, providing insights on operational risk matters such as incident root-causes.
  • Building strong relationships with the Risk Office and other Line 1 Risk teams.
  • Assisting the Risk & Compliance Senior Manager in contributing to the technical development of the team by coaching and mentoring.
  • Assisting in the management of risk processes such as the risk in change process, business continuity, User Access Reviews, Data Risk Management, LICOP, AML compliance plans, Fraud Risk assessment/controls, RAS metric completion and regulatory changes.
  • Assisting in managing new and existing incidents via regular monitoring and conducting incident discussions with relevant stakeholders, in line with the Incident & Breach Management policy and established incident/breach processes.
  • Responding to queries from internal stakeholders on risk, compliance, and governance requirements in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Experience working within life insurance/financial services
  • Experience in a relevant Risk Management and/or Compliance environment or similar
  • Experience performing control assurance and managing incidents end to end.
  • Familiarity with the relevant regulatory bodies and legal compliance requirements of the Life Insurance & Superannuation industries (e.g. Corps Act, SIS Act, LICOP)
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to articulate technical issues and formulate correspondence
  • Computer literacy and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
