Residential Design Lead

Job Summary
About the PositionThe Design Manager oversees the development and optimization of residential product designs, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market trends, and operational requirements.
- Lead the management of a design library, driving innovation through collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Oversee the end-to-end design process from client brief to display home execution and documentation delivery.
- Support project conversion by providing tender input and ensuring design compliance, feasibility, and timely production.
- Manage a team of designers to achieve consistent and compliant designs in a timely manner.
- Partner with Sales Teams to obtain design briefs, innovate and establish a pipeline of upcoming work.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver timely projects for display home designs.
- Problem solve and work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure designs meet requirements.
- Strong 3D documentation skills, Revit and Enscape preferred.
- High-level communication, influencing, and negotiation skills in stakeholder management to achieve positive outcomes.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills, structured, and analytical thinker.
- Ability to drive, coach, and share knowledge with the design team to upskill and resolve issues.
- Formal qualifications in architecture or building design.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of architectural design, detailing, building materials, residential construction techniques, cost, Australian Standards, and building legislation.
