Job Title: Park and Environment CoordinatorAbout the Role:This key leadership position oversees and coordinates the functions within the Parks and Environment unit. The role involves providing high-quality customer service to internal and external customers of Parks and Environment Services.The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing technical matters related to programs within the Parks and Environment Sub-Unit, including the efficient development and renewal of documentation and specifications.Key Responsibilities:• Plan and prioritize projects, programs, and initiatives undertaken by the Sub-Unit, with accountability for achievement of optimal outcomes.• Establish and monitor work plans, outputs, and timelines to ensure conflicting deadlines are met and provide progress reports as needed to mitigate risks.• Advocate, negotiate, problem-solve, and gain the cooperation of a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders as needed to achieve complex Sub-Unit objectives.• Organize quotations and estimates in accordance with budget management requirements.• Support the Parks and Environment Manager to identify and facilitate innovation, change, and continuous improvement initiatives in line alignment with the City's Strategic Community Plan, Corporate Business Plan, and operational plans.Requirements:- Diploma or higher level qualification in horticulture, arboriculture, environmental management, or similar discipline, or extensive relevant work experience.- Demonstrated extensive experience in the management of people and budgets in a multi-disciplinary environment.- Experience in coordinating parks projects, programs, and services.- Well-developed organisational skills and initiative, including an ability to work on multiple projects, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines despite competing priorities.Benefits:This is a full-time permanent position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.About Us:We are committed to delivering on community aspirations for a thriving and vibrant capital city that is liveable, sustainable, and prosperous for current and future generations.As a city with 14,000 businesses, almost 30,000 residents, 134,000 workers, and 230,000 visitors per day, we are committed to providing excellence in leadership to support our community.How to Apply:To apply for this exciting opportunity, please submit your application through our website.
