Victim Advocate Role

This role presents an opportunity to provide specialized support and crisis intervention for individuals affected by sexual assault.

The Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Service has strategic leadership, clinical service provision, and capacity building responsibilities across portfolio areas, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and child protection.

You will be working with adult and child victims of sexual assault and their non-offending family members, delivering crisis counseling and support as well as facilitating forensic/medical services as required.

This is a chance to work in a trauma-informed environment, collaborating with other services and agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist therapeutic and case management services to adult and child victims of sexual assault
  • Facilitate forensic/medical services as needed
  • Collaborate with other services and agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership
  • Demonstrated experience in complex trauma and trauma-informed practice within a Violence, Abuse, and Neglect setting
  • Demonstrated assessment, case management, and counseling skills with children, young people, and adults
