The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Workforce Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Medical Workforce Unit, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective administration services to support the delivery of clinical services across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medical Workforce Administration: Administer Junior Medical Officer (JMO) rosters, ensuring equitable and cost-effective rostering practices, and manage payroll systems for JMOs.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Coordinate JMO recruitment, onboarding, and credentialing processes, and manage JMO rotation processes for Healthscope.
  • Administrative Support: Provide a broad range of administrative support, including preparing reports, newsletters, correspondence, meeting papers, and audits.
  • Enquiries and Orientation: Assist with junior and senior medical staff enquiries, orientation, and wellbeing by providing timely advice, support, and guidance.
  • Knowledge and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant industrial awards, legislative requirements, and policies and procedures at a local, district, and state level.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant equivalent work experience, ideally in a Medical Workforce or hospital setting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the Medical Workforce Unit Manager and team members.
  • Initiative and Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and learn quickly, with high-level analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Internet, email technology, and MS Office applications, and experience in the use of complex electronic/software systems and applications.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Roster and Payroll Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of roster and/or payroll processes and practices, with the ability to interpret employment conditions and awards for medical staff.
  • Recruitment and Remuneration Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment and remuneration processes and practices, with the ability to interpret employment conditions for medical staff.
