This role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities that require expertise in industrial relations.

The Position Overview

As an experienced professional, you will provide high-level advice on various industrial relations issues, including dispute resolution, grievance handling, and code of conduct investigations. You will be required to offer solutions that are fair, impartial, and would withstand independent scrutiny.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on complex industrial relations matters.
  • Assist in conciliation processes between parties involved in workplace disputes.
  • Oversee performance management processes, including coaching and mentoring managers dealing with underperformance and probationary issues.
  • In partnership with other HR team members, contribute to the development, implementation, and review of HR policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Cultural capability i.e. demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the ability to engage authentically and respectfully.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, law, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role (minimum 2 years).
  • Expert knowledge of employment laws, legislation, regulations, Enterprise Agreements, and workplace policies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with stakeholders.

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in employment legislation and industry trends is essential for this role.
