The ProjectWe are part of the Western Program Alliance (WPA), a consortium of industry leaders working on the Victorian State government's level crossing removal program. Our team is responsible for ensuring the project's public profile and community relationships are authentic and thriving.
Your OpportunityWe are seeking a Communications & Stakeholder Manager to join our team, initially based in Diggers Rest and then transitioning to Tarneit West. This role will lead the development of communications and stakeholder relations strategies to guide external engagement and support for the project through delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement communications and stakeholder relations strategies to ensure effective external engagement and support for the project.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector organizations, and community members.
- Research and write high-quality communications materials, including media releases, fact sheets, publications, newsletters, and social media content.
- Identify stakeholder opportunities and risks, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Mentor and develop staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- At least ten years' professional experience in communications or stakeholder relations, with relevant media or communications qualifications.
- Strong communications skills, both interpersonal and written.
- Demonstrated stakeholder communications experience, preferably in a construction, major project, or infrastructure environment.
- Capacity to build positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with a diverse range of people.
- A proactive approach to identifying stakeholder opportunities and risks, and an ability to identify innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to develop and mentor staff.
