The Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant will play a vital part in promoting the physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social well-being of our residents. This role involves coordinating and delivering a range of activities and programs designed to enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of the lifestyle program on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure individual resident choice, decision making, and participation when implementing leisure and lifestyle programs.
  • Deliver leisure and lifestyle activities that promote physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social well-being.
  • Coordinate and deliver a broad range of programs to support residents' interests and needs.
  • Contribute to comprehensive and accurate Lifestyle Assessments and Care Plans.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of leisure and lifestyle programs.
  • Monitor and review quality in care and advocate for excellence in resident care and services.
  • Promote a positive culture of good customer service and quality care.

Requirements:

  • Proven competency in delivering recreational activities, music, and craft therapy in an aged care environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and ability to foster effective relationships.
  • Computer literacy, including the ability to learn to use Aged Care software.
  • Commitment to providing a caring and empathetic service while respecting residents' privacy, choices, and cultural preferences.
  • Understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and legislative requirements.
  • Experience in a similar role in an Aged Care Facility or in-home care.
