Research Fellow in Theoretical Quantum Chemistry
About the Role- This is a part-time research fellow position located in the School of Chemistry at the University of Melbourne.
- Develop automated workflows and collaborate with industry partners to automate job preparation, submission, analysis, and visualisation for high-throughput quantum chemistry calculations.
- Conduct accurate wavefunction calculations on high-performance computer clusters to generate ab initio reference benchmarks.
- Collaborate and publish research findings in academic journals.
- Supervise students and participate in the mentoring of research students within the group.
- Contribute to internationally competitive research in theoretical quantum chemistry, resulting in publications in highly reputable journals.
- PhD (or near completion) in Theoretical Quantum Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Experience in developing and/or applying quantum-chemical wavefunction methods to molecular systems.
- Strong publication record commensurate with experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
- Expertise in machine learning and/or programming is desirable.
