Ballarat, Victoria, Australia beBeeEmergency Full time $74,580 - $82,971

Effective emergency response requires a cohesive team effort.

As a Volunteer Support Officer, you will play a vital role in Victoria's emergency response activities during emergencies such as Flood, Storm, Earthquake, Tsunami, and Landslide. You can be directly employed for these roles or may be called upon to support emergency response activities following suitable training and assessment.

Out-of-hours work, including weekends and travel, will be required to provide assistance to volunteer units during scheduled training, unit meetings, and other unit or regional activities.

The Victoria State Emergency Service focuses on building resilience with communities and partners to achieve more aware, informed, and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during, and after emergency events.

We have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting other agencies during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

To succeed in this role, you will need relevant skills and experience in emergency management. You must also be willing to work out of hours, including weekends and travel, to provide assistance to volunteer units.

A cover letter detailing your relevant skills and experience, along with a current resume or CV, is required.
