Workers Compensation Claims Specialist

The role of Claims Manager is a critical component in the process of managing workers' compensation claims. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for making informed decisions regarding claim acceptance or rejection and transitioning claims to Case Managers for ongoing management.
You will also play a crucial role in calculating PIAWE, advising Dispute Resolution Managers on the rationale behind original decisions, and identifying potential recovery opportunities for claims.
To succeed in this position, you must possess strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team environment. You should have a solid understanding of relevant legislation and demonstrate resilience in achieving business objectives through the effective use of your technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities- Making informed decisions regarding claim acceptance or rejection
- Calculating PIAWE
- Advising Dispute Resolution Managers on the rationale behind original decisions
- Identifying potential recovery opportunities for claims
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in initial claims assessment (Case Manager) or 1 year of experience in a paralegal or legal assistant position
- Strong working knowledge of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation & Compensation Act 2013 and associated Regulations
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ACCtion and Novus, or similar case management system
