Project Engineer – Rail

The Daracon Group is a leading provider of civil construction services to public and private clients. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Hunter Civil Team in the Rail Division.

This is a key role within our Rail Division that will offer you an unrivalled opportunity for career growth and success. You will be responsible for:

  • Working with our Site Engineering and Supervisory Team to manage Civil and Rail Projects, ensuring projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes, utilizing effective time management skills.
  • Development and management of all project-specific documentation.
  • Contribution to continual improvements of existing designs.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or similar.
  • Rail experience preferred but not necessary.
  • A high level of technical expertise.
  • Experience on civil construction sites, concrete, or bulk earthworks projects.
  • A Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage your time and plan effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and influence.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership skills to lead a team to meet key project milestones and deliverables.
  • Confidence in your decision-making ability, particularly problem-solving and acting accordingly.
  • Excellent attitude towards health, safety, environmental, and quality outcomes.
  • The potential to coach and mentor less experienced team members.
