About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Commercial Manager to join our team and drive the commercial success of a major rail infrastructure project in Melbourne, VIC.

Job Description:

  • Develop and implement effective commercial strategies to ensure successful delivery of the project.
  • Collaborate with project managers, commercial leads, and site-based teams to ensure compliance with commercial and procurement requirements.
  • Provide guidance and advice on procurement matters, including risk allocation and contract administration.
  • Manage the budget, overseeing expenditure, conducting regular reviews against plan and budget, and taking corrective actions as required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all relevant project staff understand and comply with commercial and procurement requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a clear procurement plan, schedule, and execute it in partnership with the Central Procurement team.
  • Comply with procurement policy, procedure, and other key governance processes.
  • Provide guidance and advice alongside the Central procurement team on procurement matters.
  • Work in partnership with the central procurement team and Procurement committee to ensure procurement strategies are agreed and approved.
  • Manage the budget by overseeing expenditure, conducting regular reviews against plan and budget, and taking corrective actions as required.
