About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Family Violence Practitioner to join our team at the Magistrates' Court of Victoria. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to individuals affected by family violence, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and address the immediate non-legal needs of applicants, conducting risk assessments and safety planning as required.
  • Provide information and referrals to external service providers, ensuring a comprehensive support network for applicants.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including Judiciary, Court Registrars, and community-based organizations.
  • Utilize the MARAM Framework and share risk-relevant information under the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme to support the management of risk and safety.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline, such as social work, psychology, or social sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of family violence, including drivers, risks, and issues that can exacerbate family violence risk.
  • Sound skills in the provision of support, crisis containment, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement.
