Job Summary:

McAuley Community Services for Women is a leading provider of family violence support services. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children's Family Violence Practitioner to join our specialist family violence team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide child-focused, trauma-informed family violence support to infants, children, and young people in collaboration with their mother and other supports. This includes empowering mothers and strengthening the mother-child relationship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality, age-appropriate therapeutic activities and support.
  • Engage with mothers and children to conduct child-specific risk assessments and risk management.
  • Develop and contribute to child-specific support plans to ensure children are supported as clients in their own right as well as part of a broader family structure.
  • Provide secondary consultation to Case Managers and other support staff.
  • Utilize a strengths-based approach to empower mothers in their parenting and strengthen the mother-child relationship, including building a sense of safety.
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with a range of services and stakeholders to support women and children reach their goals.

What We Offer:

  • A full-time ongoing position based in an inner west suburb of Melbourne metro.
  • A salary of SCHADS Level 5 (subject to qualifications and experience) + superannuation and salary packaging.

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • A Working with Children Check (Employee Version), NDIS Check, and a current driver's license.
  • Successful appointment to the position will be subject to a National Police Check (and international if applicable).
