Ensuring Compliance in Environmental Permitting is a critical aspect of our operations. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in guaranteeing that we meet our regulatory obligations.
The Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Officer to fill this position. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing group mailboxes and telephone lines for incoming enquiries relating to wildlife seizures compliance, entering all seizures and allegations into relevant databases, and liaising with external authorities on wildlife seizures, decision outcomes and disposals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing group mailboxes and telephone lines for incoming enquiries relating to wildlife seizures compliance
- Entering all seizures and allegations into the relevant databases
- Liaising with external authorities on wildlife seizures, decision outcomes and disposals
- Making recommendations on seizures
- Referencing complex matters to senior management
- Actioning forfeited seized specimens' disposals
- Maintaining an audit record for specimens on loan to an institution or other government agency
- Undertaking biannual audits of seized specimens and section records
To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian citizen and obtain a Baseline Vetting security clearance.
Required Skills and QualificationsWe require a candidate with strong administrative experience, particularly in decision-making and working with Microsoft Office applications. You should have excellent written communication skills, with the ability to research, analyse and prepare accurate reports to meet deadlines.
Desirable qualifications include a Certificate IV in Government Investigations.
